Oven-Baked Blue Oyster Mushroom

The simplest way to prepare your blue oyster mushrooms is to roast them in the oven with your favourite herbs and spices to create a crispy, flavorful side dish. Another great way to prepare blue oyster mushrooms is to roast them in the oven. The slow, even heat gives them a rich flavour and a delightfully crispy texture. You can get creative with the herbs and spices that you use depending on your taste buds and preferences, but this is a good starting point.


Ingredients:

Blue Oyster mushrooms, cleaned and separated

2 Tbsp olive oil @getkristinas

1/2 tsp sea salt

A few cranks of black pepper

3 sprigs of fresh thyme

1/4 teaspoon of dried rosemary

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

2 thinly sliced shallots





 

1. Preheat oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. In a bowl combine the blue oyster mushrooms with the olive oil making sure each mushroom has a nice coating of oil.

3. Add in the salt, pepper, herbs, and spices and mix together until evenly coated.

4. Spread your blue oyster mushrooms out in a single layer on the parchment paper. Try to leave a little space between them, so they get crispy and don’t steam.

5. Place the mushrooms in the oven and bake for about 15 minutes.

6. Remove them from the oven and flip them over and bake them for another 8 minutes or so. You want them to be slightly crispy on the edges and soft in the center.

7. Once cooked, take them out of the oven and serve immediately.
